we manage to set up a show for them THIS SATURDAY!, this is due to the MELACCA show has been cancelled (police,police police!).Instead, the saturday show is here in GUDANG NOISY! and if there anyone interested to make a show on the next day (SUNDAY) just let them, or us know.They're are free on SUNDAY and hoping to play anywhere in KL.

MOSSURAYA SEA TOUR 2010!

MOSSURAYA, friends of SOL from Switzerland is planning for trip down to Southeast Asia and play Singapore, Malaysia & Indonesia. The band has been playing around the squats, festivals etc in Europe for the last 6 years and described as “noise-punk-grind-freejazz-cabaret-disco-hardcore”, so they are not a typical bunch of serious d-beat crusties.

The band plans to come to KL late February 2010 and start playing Malaysia the first week of March, after which they will play Singapore and then head to Java.

Off their heads, chaotic and full of cabaret fun; a bit like Mr. Sterile Assembly who were here a few years ago. At the moment the band doesn’t have a proper website but there’s an old one on tripod.com where you can listen to three songs :http://mossuraya.tripod.com/

OVERDOSE SEA TOUR 2010!

Less known about them, but what i can tell u is Du Wei and Adam has been here before in their tour with Fanzui Xiangfa.They've play in Kl in at Noisy Studio which Du Wei is the lead vocalist and Adam play bass.In Overdose Du Wei is playing drums and Adam still playing bass,with female fronted vocalist named RuanRuan and Jobby playing the guitar guitar.Overdose playing hardcore punk and they're all from Beijing.They will land here in february 2010.Listen to them here : http://www.myspace.com/overdosenj

Beijing Hardcore-Punk! Rumoured to feature ex-DS13 kids, consisting of three expats and one chinese, and the first true DIY hardcore-punk band in Beijing etc. etc.
I’m not sure about all that but it does feature our good friend Nevin Domer, who came to KL for a visit along with South Korea’s The Geeks back in early 2007. Nevin who used to study in South Korea is now in Beijing, involved with the D-22 Club (one of the best alternative spaces there) and also the increasingly awesome label, Maybe Mars (which feature one of my newest personal faves, Carsick Cars).

Setelah berhempas pulas,pahit & maung,manis,masam,penat,lelah,gadoh,berbaik,meeting 623 kali,cite depan,cite blakang,cite tepi dan tengah,peluh menitis,naik turun tangga,angkat barang,sakit otot,sakit sendi,panas,bahang...sudah tiba masanya untuk kita berhenti,berehat,berkejaran beramah mesra sesama sendiri setelah setahun setengah tak pernah keluar dari noisy studio dan ampang.

Seharusnya kita berhak memiliki dan menikmati hari sabtu dan ahad kita di kawasan lain..jauh dari kesibukan Noisy Studio,jauh dari kebiasaan,jauh dari bunyian2 "jahat&keras" yg menusuk telinga,jauh dari bahang atmosphere studio....jauhhh...jauhhh..baru terasa nikmat dan kebebasannya......

Tiba masanya untuk mendengar hembusan bayuuuuu lautt yg menusuk kalbu,bauan alam semulajadi yang harum,bau nyaman,udara segar..terik matahari pantai...masanya untuk menikmati makanan2 yg luarbiasa dari kebiasaan..

Ya..memang panjang brief trip ni..meleweh leweh..agar biar serius..make it happen..aku memohon dedikasi komitmen dan kerjasama sebaik mungkin dari kalian..ingat..kita berhak untuk menikmati "cuti".Setelah dirancang awal tahun ini,harap2 kalian mempunyai simpanan kewangan dan kelengkapan secukupnya,tak cukup tak apa...kita boleh berbincang untuk membantu.janji cuba untuk kumpul duit secukupnya.

I found this in ricecooker website few month back,and i think it's good for us to share this,1st time i read this song it makes my heart touch,really...i keep thinking..what if punk never happened...enjoy reading..

Well on a cold Tuesday morning, I was walking into town,Had my headphones blaring, didn’t notice what was around,I crossed the road, a car swerved and nearly ran me down,Looked in the driver’s seat, I swear to God it was Doc Brown,He said “Are you Michael J Fox?” I said “No I’m Jonny Fox”,He said “Close enough, get inside,I’m taking you with me to see another time,A place you could only have dreamed in your mind,An alternative reality situated just outside of Clapham,So strap yourself in,Cos where we’re going you don’t need roads,To get to where punk never happened”

We landed in a concrete desert, rubble as far as the eye could see,I says to Doc “Where we goin’?”Doc says he’s following me,We found the only building in the city that was left standing,It was my local venue,I know cos I recognised the landing,And there’s a gig on tonight! This town ain’t so bad,I got everything I need, right here in this pad,So I pulled out a bottle and took a heroic swig,Made myself comfortable and got ready for the gig,

Well an hour after doors and there was still no-one there,The soundman was on acid, the fucking long hair,The bands never showed cos they didn’t see the point,When all the kids are at home still smoking a joint,They won’t go out and do nothing, not on your nelly,They’re just watching the telly and then feeding their belly,Their parents listen to The Beatles, while they listen to Nirvana,Cos Green Day and The Pistols, well they never heard either,

They got long sleeve T-shirts and they never shower,They still believe in flower power,The hippy dream’s faded but they got nothing new,So they wear flares and slippers and burn incense sticks too,The kids would rather skate than go out and smash the state,While their parents sit still and meditate,Action’s at a low when people just don’t care,They zoned out to their surroundings, the anger’s not there,

And I’m stuck in this hippy, grunge reality,Where the buildings are crumbling down from apathy,They grab you at school when you’ve just turned 13,And show you your brand new, life long routine,You can sleep and work, and work and sleep,So you can save up the money to buy a new jeep,So you can sleep and work, and work and sleep,Then sleep. Then work. Then work. Then sleep.

I pulled a fanzine out my back pocket, held it in my hands,And watched the colours slowly fade away,The words bled right off of the pages til it had nothing left to say,I banged on the jukebox but it was useless,It had no good records on,Not even something weak like ‘The Best Punk Album In The World Ever Volume 1’,Outside the windows, I saw the excavators coming to tear the place down,No-one stopped them, for there is no community left in this town,There’s no-one around to fight Margaret Thatcher,The power of the flower just couldn’t match her,

Too strong was the will of Parliament to cause damage,That with no punk rock everything went unchallenged,Land got knocked down to build more land,That got knocked down again for a couple more grand,With no punk the protests were full of throwbacks calling each other comrade,Of course the young folks’ attendance started to fade,So it was easy for the police to move in, they were trusted,And that’s when the whole damn town got busted,

ELEVEN "SHATTERED HOPE" RELEASE PARTY

ELEVEN was started in the early 2003. Originally formed by Palie, Rush, Ja'a, Hafiz and Man. Due to unfortunate circumstances, Rush and Hafiz decided to part ways with the band. Soon later, Bart took over on vocal. After awhile, Man was replaced by Chacha on drums. In early 2004, there are changed in the line-up and Daus. M replaced Daus A as the new bass player. The current line-up are Palie, Atok, Bart, Chacha and Daus M. ELEVEN is a straight edge band that promotes positive lifestyle. We had been involved in a local compilation entitled "BONDS OF OLD SCHOOL" released under UnitedXFront records and an International African Genocide Benefit compilation entitled" WE BELONG TO THE WORLD LIVING NOT FOR OURSELVES BUT FOR OTHERS" released under Crossfire Records (Japan).

1/E : Hye,apa khabar? boleh aku tau siapa yang menjawab interview ni?
JD : Jake Duhaime,aku ahli baru dalam kugiran ini.

2/E : Boleh kamu menceritakan sedikit mengenai latarbelakang kugiran ini untuk mereka yang kurang mengenali kalian?
JD : SYNT bermula sekitar tahun 2005,pada awalnya hanyalah kugiran untuk bersuka-suka.Kemudian secara serius menjadi kugiran grind sehingga keluar beberapa release dan telah bertukar kepada sound sound yang lebih terbuka.Kami suka berparti.

3/E : Dari album pertama sehingga ke rilisan terbaru,kalian banyak berubah dari aspek musikal,adakah ini kerana pertukaran vokalis antara FOX dan BEAR atau adalah kerana kalian sendiri mahukan perubahan?
JD : Maksud aku , ya.Pertukaran ahli selalunya membawa perubahan kepada penciptaan lagu dalam beberapa aspek,tapi aku tak mengatakan Fox merupakan penyebab utama pertukaran ini.Drew adalah pencipta lagu yang utama,dibantu oleh Travis si pemain bass.Mereka duduk bersama dan mencipta sesuatu yang sangat gila!

4/E : Apa pendapat kalian mengenai "Intervals"? Kerana beberapa peminat SYNT yang aku kenali disini mengatakan "Parasite" adalah lebih "kejam".
JD : Aku suka Interval.Ia adalah album yang membawa kepada perkara yang lebih hebat.Ya,ia mungkin lebih terkawal dan kurang spastic berbanding Parasite,tapi lebih "kejam"? rasanya tidak.Dengan lebih undertone yang serius dan tuning dan penciptaan lagu yang berat ,Intervals kicks u in the dick!

5/E : Ok soalan seterusnya,bagaimana dengan tour? ada benda best dan tak best berlaku? ceritakan pada kami..
JD : The Misery Index, Hate Eternal, Aeon tour adalah sangat menyeronokkan setakat ini.Kami telah melalui masaalah bus yang gila babi sejak hari pertama,termasuk kepanasan,motor,bunyi bising dan sebagainya.Lagi,orang yang membawakan kami pakej tour ini adalah orang yang selalu jatuh sakit.Drummer dari Misery Index pula asyik terjerit jerit dekat beberapa gadis yang tak mahu megambil gambar bersama mereka.Menakjubkan!

6/E : Adakah kamu bersedia untuk tour di Asia Tenggara? apa yang kamu harapkan di sini? apa yang kamu suka?

JD : Aku tak boleh berlagak macam aku pandai mengenai hal ini,kerana aku sememangnya tidak pandai.Dari apa yang aku faham,Bush telah melakukan banyak perkara yang buruk dan menjengkelkan,tapi dia masih melakukan perkara-perkara yang bagus dari apa pengkritik2 yang lain boleh lakukan.Perang di Iraq mempunyai banyak perkara-perkara yang "samar" dan aku secara jujurnya tidak boleh mengatakan apa yang mereka lakukan adalah salah.Obama,adalah lelaki yang kental tapi terlalu awal untuk aku perkatakan.AKU MENGUNDI SLAYER!

JD : Aku rasa mereka sudah tiada masa untuk perkara2 seperti ini lagi.Jika kamu bukan datang ke show untuk menyokong musik,lebih baik kamu pergi ke club.

9/E : Boleh kamu menceritakan sedikit mengenai Ferret Music? adakah mereka mempunyai peraturan-peraturan tertentu untuk kamu menulis lagu,lirik, arwork dan lain -lain?

We took a 5 hour bus from Singapore to KL, and go into town after the all day Girl Fest had started. We then took the subway across the city to the venue, and missed about 4 - 5 bands, but got there in time to see the rest. This show was fantastic, with a hot room packed with people, all excited to see us and the other bands. Some great stuff. We met a lot of new people. There are a lot of photos and video from that night, but we haven’t had time today to get them prepared for this post.
(Speaking of which, we are slowly add vids and photos to our earlier posts, so check down from time to time to see what we’ve updated.)

Bottlecapt was formed in 2004. They are all girls-rock band from Ampang which consists of Ewin on 1st Guitar, Shiro on 2nd Guitar, Pqot on Bass /2nd Vocal and Adeq on Drums.They played powerPop+Rock. Bloody Rejects formed in 1997 as an all girl band. Released a fulllength album in 1998 "Frightfully yrs' with a new drummer guy. At that time they were known as Blood I reject. They've been appeared in numerous compilations through out South East asia. The band has gone through a few line up changes ending with Kismet, Yus, Moon and Hairiel. They've released La Varita Prevale EP back in 2007 and already out with 2nd full length album which is self released by them in June 2008. Oddity formed in 1997 as an all girl band with Aida, Hana, Dilla and Diana. In their early formation they are more into punk, alternative and grunge music. In 2000, Diana quit from the band and her position as a drummer were taken by Epi. They also changed their musical style to Metal / Hardcore and experimental stuff and getting more heavier than before. They got a chance to perform for the 1st time in May 2002 and starting from that day they started to get active in local gigs circuit including Singapore. They hibernated for 1 year in 2005 due to Aida’s health condition and back in the scene again in May 2006. But Aida and Epi cannot continued the journeys and their position were taken by Seha ( Drum) and Ned ( bass). Now they’re busy recording their new material. Sekali lagi Smile party Kolektif kembali dgn show selepas Hari Raya. Kali ini SPK menganjurkan sebuah festival utk menghargai penglibatan wanita di dlm scene ini. Juga utk menunjukkan yg wanita hari ini bkn sekadar penghias atau peneman bf masing², tetapi juga memainkan peranan penting dlm scene kita pada hari ini.

Utk show kali ini, all the girls dlm spk bergabung tenaga utk menjayakan show ini dari permulaan sampai akhirnya sambil dibantu oleh kami yang lelaki ini dari segi promosi, teknikal dan lain². Sememangnya kami mahu mereka belajar dan meraih pengalaman dari show kali ini . Tiga gadis penting dlm show kali ini ialah Petung, Epiana dan Izatul yg bertungkus lumus utk menjayakan show kali ini. Sekiranya ada apa² info yg diperlukan boleh la menghubungi mereka di nombor yg terpapar di dlm flyers.

Utk mencari band² yg dianggotai oleh semua wanita adalah amat sukar. Cuma Bottlecapt dan Vermillion sahaja yg mempunyai semua line up wanita. Yang lainnya at least ada seorang atau dua di dlm band. Tetapi di harap gig ini dpt memberi impak dan inspirasi kepada wanita² di dalam scene utk terus memberi sumbangan mereka bkn sekadar pemerhati kosong.

Kali ini SPK merasa amat bertuah kerana mendapat tetamu yg datang dari Chicago , Usa. 97 Shiki yg menampilkan line up dari band² seperti He who corrupt, My Lai, Kung Fu Rick ( just to name a few) dan drummer mereka juga ialah seorang wanita. 97shiki juga pernah terlibat dalam Chicago Clitfest beberapa bulan yg lalu. Mereka berada disini utk sesi south east asia dan kami berterima kasih kepada Utarid Booking yg berkerjasama dgn kami pada kali ini.

Begitu juga dgn 2 band dari kota singa, My Precious dan Bloody Reject. 2 nama yg sering bermain di bibir scenester bila bercakap tentang girls scene. Dan juga Oddity dan Last Minute yg sudah lama tidfak beraksi di dlm mana² show. Boleh juga dianggap satu kejayaan bagi kami kerana berjaya mengumpul nama² ini di dalam satu show.

Kepelbagaian genre muzik di dlm show ini merupakan keterbukaan kami terhadap semua jenis muzik dan tiada dikriminasi terhadap muzik tertentu. Kita ada hardcore, punk, metalcore, noise rock, hard rock, indie pop,Metal dan diharap ianya dpt memuaskan hati crowd yg hadir pada hari itu.

Jadi kepada semua, jgn lupa reservekan tarikh 8 november dan dtglah beramai ramai melihat gadis² berani ini beraksi ;).

Kepada mana² label ataupun komuniti yg memperjuangkan feminism dan mahu berkerjasama dgn kami bolehla menghubungi kami di nombor yg tertera .

2nd event

The show started up late on that day..it's a day before Merdeka..lots of the band boys and the crowds stucked in traffic jam, plus there's a lots of shows around town on that day. 3 bands didnt show up on that day. Crest fallen, Shallow Dance and Devilica. Dead Disco Dancer came for a rescue. Not forgetting , the show that supposed to be a last show for Devilica didnt worked out. Btw, it went well. The show started with Polaris with their intrumental rock set that really went well. And it's really cool too, Dead Disco Dancer take on the stage with their wild and energetic perfomance. This time they even covered song from As The Sun Sets.. pheww.. and once again "tarian burung" rules!!!

Kiss The Fallen kicked off after that and blew me away their great perfomance. althought they are still new in the scene but they show that they got something to show to us. and it followed with PJs with their beautiful screamo melodies. PJs shows that malacca is not just a homegrown for grunge but also diy epic screamo . Goda then take the stage with their energetic metal perfomance and all the kids started to bang their head. Then the show take a rest for a while .

And right after the break, Tyrant take over.. i really like Tyrant coz they're weird..there's something about this band that is hard for me to describe. Btw the next band blew us away with their tight perfomance, technical n progressive death metal through your face. Symbiotic In Theory kicked off with their original songs and also a cover song from Necrophargist..woohoo..this is the band that you should check out in the future.

The doom time is coming and Pakatan Haram Jadah is next.. their perfomance terrorize the hall with smoke fog and heavy and weaker music that will surely make you doomed. After the smoke is cleared, Aleya's take charge, started up with a cover song from cranberries, the crowds started to cheering and sing along with the band. The mood is cool down for a moment and everybody started to fall in love with Aleya..haha

And lastly, Sarjan Hassan invaded the hall with their chaotic and thrashing perfomance. Sarjan Hassan is one of my favourite local thrash band and it was really fun on that day with the moshed n circle pit . Unlike typical thrashcore band in malaysia that sounded the same, Sarjan Hassan is unique. No wonder they got a split deal with Hirax.
and after finishing their set, they continue with a cover songs from classic punk n thrash songs such as sex pistol, the clash, motorhead, cocksparrer and just to mention a few coz i dont remember all. And we all sings like there's no tomorrow and end up with backache and bruises ;)

Smile Party Kolektif ( SPK) is an independent, do-it-yourself, non-hierarchical collective consisting of a number of individuals who organize and participate in organizing DIY shows or any social events related to diy hc scene. Based in Noisy Studio Ampang and we welcome anyone who want to join and give a hand.

SPK objective is to created smile among us and make us realize that love is one of the important things in life.

SPK against homophobia, racism , fascism and sexism. And if there's any bands who want to participate in our show that gots this hatred elements, we will say sorry, you guys are not welcome.

SPK also focused on highlighting new fresh talents and seeking more bands that are rarely play in any gigs circuit. This is how we worked and how we want to help the bands. Till then.. keep checking out this page for new events. Chiaow
